Carina's Ramblings

So, sorry, I'm checking this for the first time now. And just a little warning, I won't be able to check this everyday, I'll try, but probably won't. Thank you Tifani for setting it all up - congrats on finishing! I'm about half way right now and really wondering what Northanger Abbey is - it hasn't been mentioned once yet, though, I can feel it coming. So, I rented the movie, the Janna Austin Book Club movie, and besides the extremely corny closing line, I liked it a lot and it did get me ready to read! (for those of you who don't remember, they are at the library benefit and the one woman comes in with her new Costa Rican husband and Dean says, "He hasn't read Austin" and they all say something to the effect of, "Oh, but he will!" - I thought it was a horrible way to end an otherwise enjoyable movie!) Janna - I bought the same compilation, leather bound one that you did from Deseret Book, so I found it pretty funny when the young guy pulls out his huge book since that's what we both have! Anyway, I'm rambling, none of this has anything to do with Northanger Abbey, so I'll add my final discussion point from my reading thus far - What hot actor would we pick to play Mr. Tilney (British ancestry not necessary)? And on the flip side, which slightly awkward looking and less appealing actor would play Mr. Thorpe? Yes, I know, it's not an academic thought, but it is something to ponder for now . . . (note for Janna - if you would like to submit your opinion on this matter, you must tell us who the actors play in a movie because if you use their names, chances are we will not know who they are . . . :)
